Christopher Nassetta became the CEO of Hilton in 2007, at a time when the company was acquired by the private equity firm Blackstone. He navigated through challenges such as the impact of the recession, the rise of online travel agencies, and the emergence of new competitors. Through his successful restructuring of the company, launching new brands, and expanding into new markets, Hilton has become one of the world's largest and most valuable hotel companies. Background research was done by Sigurd Brekke with input from portfolio manager Stephanie Werner Vardheim Links:Watch the episode on YouTube: Norges Bank Investment Management - YouTubeWant to learn more about the fund? The fund | Norges Bank Investment Management (nbim.no)Follow Nicolai Tangen on LinkedIn: Nicolai Tangen | LinkedInFollow NBIM on LinkedIn: Norges Bank Investment Management: Administrator for bedriftsside | LinkedInFollow NBIM on Instagram: Explore Norges Bank Investment Management on Instagram Hosted on Acast.
