Zen Mama & The Addict* was started by mother and daughter, Mary and Kate Streeter, as an open discussion about the impact of addiction on their family. Honest and raw conversations about topics like rehab and recovery, dishonesty and fear to trust, love vs enabling, the courage to set loving boundaries, are the foundation for the podcast. After Kate's incarceration the podcast transitioned into Zen Mama and Everyday Gurus, a platform to share stories of struggle, resiliency, and hope. We hold space for honest conversation of how Everyday Gurus, people just like you, are finding meaning and purpose in life. "Everyday people" finding what lights them up inside, despite challenges ~ or maybe because of them. We invite you to join us as we talk to the wise who walk among us! After a 3-year hiatus we are relaunching Zen Mama and The Addict! We will continue to share our story; each of our perspectives on incarceration, recovery and healing-along with inviting guests to share their recovery journeys along with the stories of those that have walked beside them. Normalizing addiction, sharing tools-and how to use them- to navigate this hard but beautiful journey of being human. Join us, be inspired by these real, raw and relevant conversations that are full of wisdom, hope and joy.
