SCHREMS II:  On Thursday 16th July 2020, the European Court of Justice heard the case of Schrems II, which concerned the legality of international data transfers. Overall, the judgement ruled that the US-EU Privacy Shield is not a valid way to transfer data between the EU and US, and more suitable means would need to be used. For an overview of what discussion points there were prior to the hearing, you can read Tobias' analysis here on LinkedIn. You can also find the full judgement here and the European Data Protection Board's recommendation here.  How to support the podcast:  Because of your love, the podcast just featured as number 10 in Legal Tech podcasts to listen to in 2020 by Feedspot!
