Every person is different, and one of the purposes of psychological investigation is precisely to detect such differences, so as to provide a unique profile that is as fitting as possible.Simplifying and summarizing the matter, we can state that there are five substantial factors that can affect the outcome of tests:The age of the user2. His or her cultural/experiential background3. The degree of open-mindedness4. The level of concentration and attention5. The degree of sincerityThe importance of open-mindednessThis is a basic prerequisite in all tests that investigate personality, especially in the awareness test, in the awakening test and in the great personality test. By open-mindedness is meant not so much a predisposition toward others and acceptance of diversity, but the ability to turn one’s gaze inward and take note of one’s own way of being, with its limitations, idiosyncrasies, merits and flaws. Openness to oneself first, and to everything else as a consequence. In this regard it should be noted that the duality underlying the functioning of our mind pushes toward division and separation, that is, toward the categorization and radicalization of opposites: inside-outside, good-evil and so on. However, this is a mental and egoic illusion, as we will see in the next section. The outer world as a reflection of the inner worldReality could be described, in philosophical-spiritual terms, as a reflection of our more or less conscious fears, hopes and needs. Our inner world shapes our outer one. Those who accept themselves and their limitations will tend to perceive external reality more objectively, for better or worse, while those who are not accustomed to digging into their inner selves will need to idealize and categorize the outer world to compensate for a lack of inner awareness. All of this results, during the conduct of tests, in the choice of answers that appear to be “right” or socially desirable, but are not really felt by the user giving them. The motto of our portal originates from here, trying in its own humble way to stimulate readers toward introspection: γνῶθι σεαυτόν – nosce te ipsum – know thyself. The interdependence of the five factorsOf course, each of the five elements listed above is closely related to all the others, to such an extent that we can define them complementary. Age affects a person’s wealth of experience and knowledge, just as the latter affects the degree of one’s open-mindedness. To make a long story short, the five factors are all important although that of age is to be considered decisive, especially when it is particularly young. In fact, as we proceed with the analysis, we will see that test results must always be related to the user’s age group, and we will try to provide a customized interpretive formula for each of the main age ranges.I nostri test di personalità in italiano:La Ricerca Spirituale
