The PM Team w/Poni & Mueller - En podkast av Audacy - Torsdager

Now there is speculation that the Steelers and Aaron Rodgers have a gap in their contract talks, which could be holding things up. Mike Florio guessed that the contract could be 2 years, $90M for Rodgers, but isn’t sure if the Steelers are going to bend over for that. If the Steelers can get Russell Wilson for a much cheaper price, is he a better option? Does Rodgers think he is still an MVP caliber player? Cooper Kupp officially released. Should the Steelers have any interest after the DK Metcalf move? The Bills signed Larry Ogunjobi over $8M. Aaron Rodgers will officially be released by the Jets today at 4 pm. Mike Florio from Pro Football Talk joined the show. Are the Steelers and Aaron Rodgers at an impasse? Mike thinks the team could be preparing for that and use Russell Wilson as a fallback plan. Mike still thinks the Steelers are the best fit for Rodgers, but could also see the team telling Rodgers to get lost if he takes too long on his decision. Mike said the Steelers have never done anything like they did with the DK Metcalf deal, which means they need to have someone getting him the football. Mike isn’t sure the Steelers realize what having Metcalf means and he’s worried they are dragging their feet too much. Mike said the Vikings are not a team to rule out in all of this. Mike wondered if Rodgers is overplaying his hand right now. Mike thinks the Steelers had the expectation of retaining Justin Fields and when he walked, they panicked. How much do Rodgers and Mike Tomlin actually like each other? Mike doesn’t think 2 years/$90M is the price because the deal would have been done already if it was.
