A Dark Night in Aurora: Inside James Holmes and the Colorado Mass Shootings

The Ontic Protective Intelligence Podcast - En podkast av Ontic, The Ontic Center for Protective Intelligence - Onsdager

James Holmes killed or wounded 70 people in a movie theater in Aurora, Colorado. Unlike many other mass shootings, Holmes is unique in regard to his willingness to be taken into custody alive. In the court case that followed, Dr. William H. Reid was tasked with piecing together an understanding of how a happy, seemingly normal child could become a killer. --- In this episode, Fred and Dr. Reid discuss James Holmes, his mental state, behaviors and what (if anything) could have been done to prevent this incident. Dr. Reid is a professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the Dell Medical School at the University of Texas, Austin. He has authored or co-authored over 300 publications and abstracts, and 16 professional books. His most recent book is “A Dark Night in Aurora: Inside James Holmes and the Colorado Mass Shootings.” A Dark Night in Aurora uses the 23 hours of unredacted interview transcripts never seen by the public and Reid’s research to bring the reader inside the mind of a mass murderer.
