"Escape from L.A." by Shrimps John Carpenter, the son of a music professor, composed the minimalist scores for many of his own films out of necessity. Netlabel Pterodactyl Squad recently paid homage to many of these phenomenally atmospheric lo-fi creations with their free-to-download chiptune album It's All in the Reflexes - A John Carpenter Tribute.
