11: Big Companies

Startupification - En podkast av Steven Drost, Matt Farrugia

Corporations, incumbents, enterprise … for simplicity, let’s call them “Big Companies”. They make the world go round - they employ huge swathes of the population, drive the economy, and are integrated into every aspect of our lives. They make a fortune in revenue, and some have been steadily (ish) growing for hundreds of years. Then along comes a young upstart of a company, who believes they can change the world. How do they interact with these huge companies? Is it just to sell to them, or is there something deeper and more strategic? And how do these big companies continue to learn as they grow? Are defined playbooks, getting into “maintenance mode” enough? Are there tangible benefits to traditional approaches to digital transformation - like “agile” thinking, hackathons, endless POCs? Join Matt and Steven in this weeks episode where they look at David and Goliath dynamics. Warning: This episode contains an extremely extended nautical metaphor. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
