Matt and Steve are talking about this week in sports updates, including: PIAA Football State Championship games rundown. The MLB off season is in full swing. There are some trades happening in the MLB off season. Ivan Nova is headed to the White Sox from the Buccos in exchange for a mid reliever and $500K in cash for the foreign area. Cutch signs a 3-yr $45M deal with the Phillies. The Orioles hire Brandon Hyde, former Cubs bench coach, as Manager after firing Buck Showwalter. Eyes are still on Harper to see where he lands this season and what kind of payday he is in for. The Yankees are talking with Manny Machado. Kyler Murray wins the Heisman this year. This year is the 2nd straight QB win for the Heisman trophy, and the 2nd straight Sooners QB to win. Murray had 4k passing yards, 51TD, and a 12-1 season to win the Big 12 title. Oakland A’s have signed Murray to play Baseball in the 2018 draft for $4.66 Million. He was #9 overall. Although Murray has signed to a baseball team, he is also looking to possibly do both - he's just not sure how possible it is. NCAA Basketball saw Pitt take two losses. NCAA conference play starts after the first of the year. WVU hoops has had some bad losses. PSU is 5-4 with 2 losses and some tough non-conference play coming up. Notre Dame is 6-3 with conference play in the ACC after the first of the year. The Irish are coming off 2 losses in a row to Oklahoma and UCLA. Bowl season starts with NCAA football. Penguins stars have shined recently with some nice wins, but the guys have taken some bad losses as well. The Penguins are currently 4th in the division, and in the middle of their annual DADS trip. The guys appreciate the DADS trip because they get to share stories and such together and hang with the fam. Steelers.
