JoJo Siwa is all grown-up, and she wants you to know it. On Friday, the former “Dance Moms” cast member dropped her new song “Karma,” along with the music vid. They show a new look and sound for JoJo, who has ditched her signature bow and family-friendly image for an edgier vibe. While out promoting her music, JoJo told Billboard she wants to start a new genre of music she calls “gay pop.” People online reacted strongly to this, pointing to the many LGBTQ+ artists who came before her. (Elton John, Frank Ocean, Boy George, Lady Gaga anyone?) So far, JoJo doesn’t seem too bothered by all the backlash. Looks like she might really be in her “bad girl” era.
