Palestinian authorities say Gaza death toll now more than 56,000

Health and medical workers in Gaza say Israeli forces have killed hundreds of Palestinians in recent weeks, as they desperately try to obtain food at different aid sites in south and central Gaza. The total death toll in Gaza has now passed 56,000, according to Palestinian authorities in the coastal strip. Israel's military says its forces have fired warning shots at people it says have approached them in a suspicious manner.
