This week, my special guest is Adam Craig, LFCE (Linux Foundation Certified Systems Engineer). Adam manages a room of Linux servers for an unnamed major university and was my master/tutor/guru (and still is, to some degree) when I made the switch to Linux several years ago. We discuss the Linux Operating System — what it is, how to get it, why it is better than either Windows or Mac for privacy and security, and why you should consider switching to Linux from your current Operating System.   I do not personally know anyone more knowledgeable about Linux than Adam. It was a great joy to have him on the show to discuss an Operating System that respects privacy and liberty. I hope you enjoy this deep dive into Linux as much as we enjoyed doing it! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you enjoy or benefit from this podcast, please consider supporting Enemy of the [Surveillance] State via Patreon https://www.patreon.com/EnemyOfSurveillance or by picking up some cool merch at https://teespring.com/stores/eotss-merch Anything you do helps support the show and keeps it growing! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here are the links to some of what we discuss in this episode: Download and install Ubuntu Linux:www.ubuntu.com Download and install Fedora Linux: www.fedoraproject.com Check out a great list of Linux distributions: www.distrowatch.com The GNU Public License: www.gnu.org/licenses/#GPL A great paper on the philosophy of Open-Source software: www.catb.org/~esr/writings/cathedral-bazaar/ The Open-Source definition: www.opensource.org/osd Revolution OS — a super nerdy documentary on Linux from 2001.
