On today's episode of Cyber Security Matters, Christian & Dominic speak with Michael Leung, a cyber security practitioner bringing you accurate information from the front lines. Michael explains the importance of understanding your data flow, where your crown jewels (most valuable data) are and the power of cyber risk assessments. A Cyber Risk Assessment will unearth weaknesses in a company's policies and in their cyber security awareness training of their people. These are often more critical to an organization, and, therefore, more urgent to address. An assessment can also highlight some of the good things an organization is doing - in particular, some of the good things that IT is doing but haven't communicated. People outside of IT often have no idea of these achievements so it's an eye opener for them and something tangible for the organization to build upon. Some organizations are just looking for a check mark in the "cyber security box." Michael says: "You get what you pay for!" If you budget $500 for cyber security, that's the level of quality you will get.
