Man fatally shot during Central Coast police siege

A 49-year-old man was fatally shot by police during a siege at a home on Wells Street, Springfield, on the Central Coast. Police attended the address for a welfare check with a mental health clinician when the man armed himself with edged weapons, barricaded himself inside, and later lit an aerosol can.
